I’ve been chatting with people about this issue on TGP though I was mistakenly referring to Line 6 edit, when what I really wanted was Gearbox. The only solution I can see is running a virtual machine with an older OS that was compatible with Line 6 Monkey and Gearbox.

Really incredible how long this GuitarPort has lasted, talk about getting your money’s worth. After upgrading from Win7 to Win10, and updating the driver with Monkey, it started working without any workarounds. I also use GearBox heavily and rely on the built-in player.

And occasionally see the same issue in fact, I’ve noticed that sometimes all media players GearBox player, Windows Media Player, YouTube videos just don’t do anything. Hit the play button and it just sits there. You can play through GearBox with your guitar and hear sound from whatever headphones or speakers is plugged in to GuitarPort, but no media players work. Anyway the easy yet annoying fix is to simply unplug and re-plug the USB cable. Sometimes I actually have to do it twice, but usually just once.

Dodnload have disabled all other onboard sound devices but the PC can not play any sound at all via the GuitarPort as a simple sound card with or without GearBox running. Being time constrained, I find that optimising tones manually is too time consuming. I have the POD X3 live and i cannot use any software to configure it. I expected better from Line 6. To be fair, Line 6 have given support to me so long as I have the right kit. All works perfect except for the Tonelocker.

The only solution I can see is running a virtual machine with an older OS that was compatible with Line 6 Monkey and Gearbox. Going to give that a try and see how it goes. I have disabled all other onboard sound devices but the PC can not play any sound at all via the GuitarPort as a simple sound card with or without GearBox running There are no errors showing with the installed drivers. Do they correctly support Win 10?
