Logic pro x and ableton rewire free
Jan 06, · Syncing Ableton to Logic Pro X. I’ve long wanted to setup Live to run alongside Logic, but using Rewire is out of the question because I want to be able to use some Max fo Live devices. I was able to sync Live and Logic on two separate computers by using Midi clock, with Logic being the master, but the tempo was drifting too much to be of use. To launch a program as Administrator, simply right-click the Live or other DAW icon from your desktop and select “Run as Administrator”. For Mac users, Live may also request admin privileges when first trying to configure the ReWire engine. Simply enter the admin password when prompted. I have done this and it doesn’t work. I tried moving both ReWire folders from Propellerheads Software folder in application support folder from both my username and the system libraries and starting Ableton 9 as standalone, but still no luck there. I’m at a loss for what to do. If anyone has any help for me that would be most appreciated.
I am running Live 9. Perhaps that is why this is still not working. I wonder if I manually reinstall rewire itself that might help. If anyone has any other ideas that would be very helpful.

Deleting the 32bit ReWire aliases worked for me. Thanks a million! My problem is the opposite to this post so maybe you can help or point me in the right direction? I managed to get LPX to run as rewire master but I can’t run it as a slave.

First get your template working without the complications of stray MIDI coming from your devices use the computer-keyboard to generate notes in Live , then add external sources of MIDI back in one at a time and debug any conflicts.

By foreststone , February 20, in Logic Pro. I am unable to get Ableton Live to launch in rewire slave mode on one of my machines. Both Logic No Rewire slave applications will be available for use with Live unless you quit the current Rewire master application and restart Live. Only Logic won’t allow Live 9 to launch in rewire slave mode. I’ve tried deleting preferences and reinstalling Ableton and also tried setting the Rewire playback mode in Logic but still keep getting that message.
On my laptop I do not have this problem. Mac mini 3. If you open Logic by itself and create an aux channel strip in the mixer, can you see Ableton Live’s Rewire buses available as input options? Quit Logic and Live. Try moving the Rewire folders to the Desktop then running Live standalone to get it to reinstall it’s Rewire files.
Then Quit Live, start Logic, start Live. Yep, that’s one of the things I tried but still can’t remember if that’s what took care of it I do see ableton rewire as an option when creating both an aux bus and ext midi track.
It’s strange since Cubase and Pro Tools can both trigger Ableton to recognize that it should launch in Slave mode. Something tells me that Logic is not do something when I set the Rewire Behavior setting in the preferences.
I’ve tried trashing Logic preferences and then resetting my preferences again but still no luck. Hello CCT. I just tried this and Ableton did reinstall them but still no luck. This is another scratchpad post to remind myself how I set up two of my favorite digital audio workstations Ableton Live and Apple Logic Pro X to run at the same time. I like facets of each of these systems and want to have the best of both worlds — the live-performance flexibility of Live and the instruments and signal processing of Logic.
Until then, this is a set of notes on how I do it. Your mileage may vary. Revises the Logic and Live templates to reflect this change in audio processing. Logic breaks controllers like Push and Komplete Kontrol because it grabs them away from Live as it starts up. Push shuts down entirely as soon as Logic is running. Here are links to two project files which you are welcome to try out as a template. Why not 16, you ask?
The configuration steps to set up the environment are still required, but you should then be able to load these up as a starting point. Zip archive of the revised Logic and Live templates. Everytime I try to rewire Ableton 9 64 bit as a slave to Logic X Please quit both the current ReWire master application and Live, and then launch Live once as a standalone application so that it can install its ReWire engine. I have done this and it doesn’t work. I tried moving both ReWire folders from Propellerheads Software folder in application support folder from both my username and the system libraries and starting Ableton 9 as standalone, but still no luck there.
I’m at a loss for what to do. If anyone has any help for me that would be most appreciated. I am running Live 9. Perhaps that is why this is still not working.
I wonder if I manually reinstall rewire itself that might help. If anyone has any other ideas that would be very helpful. That’s the same message I was getting some months ago. Glad to hear updating to Live 9. I was looking for an answer to a similar problem. I have both 32bit and 64bit Live versions installed. Deleting the 32bit ReWire aliases worked for me. Thanks a million! My problem is the opposite to this post so maybe you can help or point me in the right direction? I managed to get LPX to run as rewire master but I can’t run it as a slave.

Try moving the Rewire folders to the Desktop then running Live standalone to get it to reinstall it’s Rewire files. Then Quit Live, start Logic, start Live. Yep, that’s one of the things I tried but still can’t remember if that’s what took care of it I do see ableton rewire as an option when creating both an aux bus and ext midi track. It’s strange since Cubase and Pro Tools can both trigger Ableton to recognize that it should launch in Slave mode.
Something tells me that Logic is not do something when I set the Rewire Behavior setting in the preferences.
